~Winter Concert Instructions: Please Read All~
CONCERT RESCHEDULED TO SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 13 DUE TO WEATHER & ILLNESS

Revised rehearsal schedule:

Tuesday, January 25: Regular rehearsal @Redeemer
Tuesday, February 1: Regular rehearsal @Redeemer
Tuesday, February 8: Rehearse at Columbia Street Baptist Church, Bangor. Regular times.

Concert Call Times:

1:00 p.m. for Youth Chorale members (the older group) in concert dress
2:00 p.m. for Treble Choir members (the younger group) in concert dress

Please do not be late!!! We need this extra time for logistical prep.

Schedule:

1:00 – 1:15 Youth Chorale Warm-ups
1:15 – 2:00 Youth Chorale run-throughs and touch ups
2:00 – 2:10 Treble Choir warm-ups
Youth Chorale break downstairs (get pearls, ties, etc…)
2:10 – 2:30 Treble Choir run-throughs and touch ups
2:30 – 2:45 Combined Choirs run-throughs and touch ups
2:45 Doors open for audience, all singers downstairs
3:00 Concert begins

Directly following the concert:

Treble Choir: free to go
Youth Chorale: return downstairs to do two things!
1. Turn in pearls and ties
2. Turn in the following pieces of music, in separate piles, all facing the same way:

All Is Full Of Love
I’m Going Up a Yonder
Favorite Things
Pure Imagination

3. Go home

Rehearsal Canceled!!! January 18

Due to the impending wretched weather, rehearsal for both choirs is canceled today. We would prefer NOT to have anyone slipping and sliding on (or off) the roads this evening!

Please come prepared for work next week as our concert is less than 2 weeks away!!

Nutcracker weekend is upon us!

Our Youth Chorale singers have spent the last two evenings rehearsing with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and the Robinson Ballet for this weekend’s performances of The Nutcracker. Continuing a long-standing holiday tradition, our treble-voiced singers perform the Snowflake Chorus as Clara, the Prince and Snowflakes dance on stage. Here’s a short clip from last night’s rehearsal.

Tickets for all performances are still available, although the Saturday afternoon show may be close to sold-out. For more information on ticket availability, visit the Collins Center for the Arts website.

New Renaissance Singers Holiday Concert

Fellow singers and BACC supporters the New Renaissance Singers will perform their annual holiday concert Saturday, December 11 at 7:00 p.m. The First Congregational Church of Brewer will once again host the concert that promises festive holiday tunes, plus refreshments and socializing afterward. Be sure to mark your calendars and celebrate the season with song!

Cookie Dough Day: Tuesday, November 23 – UPDATED

BACC families, mark your calendars! Cookie dough will be distributed next Tuesday, November 16 23 at Choir and Chorale rehearsals.

If, for some reason, your singer will not be at rehearsal that day, PLEASE make arrangements to have someone pick up your cookie dough order. Remember, the dough arrives frozen and needs to be kept cold. We have no cold storage facilities, so your dough must go home Tuesday.

Calls to coordinate volunteers to help with the cookie dough distribution will be made this week. If you have any questions, please contact Holly Hatch.

November 16 – We apologize for this disruption. The cookie dough has not yet been delivered. We are planning on distributing it next week just in time for Thanksgiving (as if we won’t have enough desserts anyway)!

All Treble Choir Singers, Parents, and Families

Please plan to join us for a pot-luck dinner at Redeemer Lutheran immediately after rehearsal on Tuesday, October 26! Information about the dinner plans and a sign-up request for various dishes will be heading home a couple of weeks earlier, so be on the lookout for it.

For many parents and families, this is probably the first chance they get to meet the other singers and parents, so come and meet some new friends. You may even get a preview of the Choir’s progress (hint-hint). Hope to see you all there.

We will distribute the new BACC Handbook and Cookie Dough Fundraiser packets for each singer, and we will be collecting Chorister Agreements for 2010-11. Steve Weston and the board will also provide updates for the new choir season.

Calling all singers ages 12-18: It’s time to audition!

Come to our Youth Chorale auditions this Thursday, May 6 from 4-5 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bangor.

What to bring: Your voice is all you need.
What to expect: You will sing with a large group of singers to show what your voice is like and can do among other singers. You will sing in smaller groups as well so we can get the full picture.
